Are there non-aberrant ghosts? Do they have complicated rites and rituals for laying the dead to rest? Maybe it's the whole dang place that's possessed. Does a facestealer have to be a person, could it not be an entire building?

vanilla-flavoured ghosts would be more what we're accustomed to IRL -- there's probably ghost stories and ghost encounters and "haunted" locations and people who will swear up and down that they've experienced something otherworldly or can commune with spirits, but a lot of people nowadays will chalk it up to misunderstood magic, the same way we would often dismiss it as poorly understood science. "Are you sure it was REALLY a departed soul, and not some runewriter messing with your head? Are you sure it wasn't just an aberrant?"
